We are delighted to introduce the team and the people who made it possible to bring science to children and adults alike today!
Yavor Denchev is the father of a wonderful little girl, holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Microbiology from the University of Victoria, Canada, and is the founder of DNK – Kids Science Class. He is a teacher and science communicator, known to many from the stage of Bulgaria’s Got Talent and from his science segment on the Bulgarian National Television show 100% Awake.
Stefan Savov holds a Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, a Master’s degree in Biochemistry, and is currently pursuing a PhD in Biochemistry with a focus on parasitic plants. He is an assistant lecturer at Sofia University, a children’s folk dance instructor, and a science wizard at DNK – Kids Science Class.
There is probably no child who is not fascinated by how the human body works. 🔥 In our “Fun Anatomy” workshop, we will take a closer look inside the 🧠 human body using an interactive augmented reality T-shirt. We will discover how our lungs function, see how the heart pumps blood throughout the body, create a model of blood in a cup, and, of course, finish by making our own gummy 👀 intestines to take home.
In our 🫧 “Bubbling Science” workshop, every child will dive into the world of chemistry and physics through some of the most exciting scientific experiments. We will create 🌋 lava lamps, build carbon dioxide factories inside balloons, and produce snowy white clouds and foam volcanoes using dry ice.
To conclude the festival, we have prepared a touch of 🧬 DNA magic. Children love experimenting with Oobleck—the non-Newtonian fluid that becomes solid under pressure and flows like a liquid when left undisturbed. As always, we like to make science bigger and more spectacular, so at the end of the festival, our bravest young scientists will not only get to touch Oobleck but will also have the chance to jump into our giant Oobleck quicksand pit. Who will make it across, and who will sink? We can’t wait to find out! 😊
And of course! 🤔 What would science be without erupting volcanoes? This time, however, our famous elephant toothpaste eruption will only happen when participants answer the questions correctly in our DNK Science Quiz.
