Education has never been simply a process of imparting knowledge. It is a living, dynamic mechanism that reflects, shapes and responds to the world around us. In recent years, this mechanism has been undergoing transformation at an unprecedented speed. The times in which we live impose new expectations, new tools and new ways of thinking. In the age of artificial intelligence, digitalization and global connectivity, the question is no longer whether education will change, but how and with what direction we will make it more relevant for the future.
The Education of the Future Forum, organized by Cosmos International School for the third consecutive year, is an answer to this very question. This event is not just another conference – it is a platform for sharing, listening and co-creating the future of education from the perspective of the most important stakeholders in the process: students, teachers, parents and researchers.
On Sunday, 23 March, in the picturesque village of Osoitsa, Gorna Malina municipality, representatives of different educational and social backgrounds will gather to unite their efforts around a common goal – meaningful, modern and adaptive education. The event is free of charge, but places are limited and pre-registration is required. Those interested can register online or on-site at the school.
Why is this forum different?
Unlike many other education events, this forum puts students at the center. Their vision, voice and experience will lead the way. The organizers believe that the future of education cannot be planned without the participation of those who experience it every day.
A programme built around practical need and interest
The Forum will open at 9:30 a.m., with one of the key parts of the program, the panel “School of the Future through the Eyes of Students and Scholars,” beginning at 10:00 a.m. Students from Cosmos International School (Osoitsa village) and Hristo Botev School (Gorna Malina village) will present their ideas on the role of the school of tomorrow. The discussion will touch upon questions such as. What skills will be needed in 10 years? What does a “successful student” mean in a fully digital environment?
At 11:30 a.m. follows the interactive session “Borders – a bridge between children and adults” with Ines Raicheva and Maria Petkova. We will seek to answer the question of how to build a strong relationship between generations, without authoritarianism, but with trust and clarity. The experts will talk about empathic communication and the importance of benevolent boundaries in the process of learning and personal development.
A practical approach to change
The afternoon part of the forum continues with even more practically oriented panels. At 14:00, “School in the Village – Mission Possible” will start, where successful models of small schools in rural areas will be presented. Teodosii Teodosiev – a beloved teacher, visionary and physicist – will deliver an inspiring lecture on the future of education and the role of artificial intelligence in it.
At 15:00, the topic shifts to one of the most pressing challenges: digital safety. Teodor Panayotov will lead a discussion on digital crimes and how students can protect themselves in an online environment often full of risks and pitfalls.
At 16:00, the panel “School in the Village – Mission Possible” will continue, where more practitioners will be given the floor to share best practices from a first-person perspective.
Parallel workshops for young and old
While the main discussions are underway, a variety of inspiring activities for young and old will run in parallel.
From 11:30 am to 1:00 pm, the children’s book “Women Who Change the World” by Dr. Zhenya Lazarova, an educational psychologist dedicated to inspiring young people through stories of real individuals who have changed the course of history, will be presented.
Creative workshops will be open throughout the day, between 10:00 and 16:00. In them, participants will have the opportunity to explore retro photography and animation with Marina, create art creations with mixed media and scrapbooking with Iliana, model with clay with Valentina, and engage in vocal-music sessions with Bojan and Tatiana. Each workshop is designed with free creative expression and intergenerational dialogue in mind.
In addition, there will be an on-site farmers market, which will provide an opportunity to support local growers and dialogue between participants in a more informal and authentic environment.
Why should you attend?
